Hello again, My dark old friend,
My Father Night;
Is it Time now?
Must it End?
And I hear the voice in my head,
Answering back so smooth and cold;
As if I were destiny,
And my future was to unfold;
'Look around, all around you,
See them bustle and burn,
Hear them moan and chant,
And look in their minds,
See the wheels and cogs of thought,
See them cease to turn;'
And now I saw, all about me,
The mask and scent of impending death,
And I realized they didn't know,
I was the messenger sent on the mad quest;
"But the Queen of the city,
Mother Light,
She will not hear me,
My dear Father Night,"
I pleaded in despair,
And then his voice chilled the very air;
'Care not for her,
Speak to them, The little ones,
That Queen has sat on the throne for far too long,
Let her reign end,
Let the dawn begin again,
Let them rejoice in a new song;"
And then I knew as sure as Time,
Knew that my Family was at feuds,
My world on its knees,
The little ones the only hope,
I knew what my people must need;
"Mother of Light, Father of Night,
Hear me, your Son of Time,
Hear my words that I might teach you,
Take my hands that I might reach you..."
And then there was silence,
In the Heavens and Dawns,
In the Depths and Heights,
And I stood alone,
The World dancing in my hands,
And I knew, With certainty,
That my Time was now,
That I was the Future,
And for all Eternity;
"Father!...Father...
It has come upon us all,
And it has Awakened,
In Me...In Me!...
I am the cure,
The little ones, the future,
And of this I am sure,
Father...The Sleeper has Awakened...
